About Me

I have been teaching PE at Melzer school since 1998.  Through the years I have also traveled to teach PE at Nelson, Washington, and Apollo schools. I really enjoy teaching physical education because no two days are the same, and I love to see the enthusiasm and joy my students have for being active.

Before coming to Melzer, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Elmhurst University.  While teaching full-time, I earned my Master of Science in Elementary Education from DePaul University.

My husband, Pete, and I have two boys, Nate (16) and Kyle (12).  They enjoy being active in baseball, basketball, volleyball, running, fishing, and playing on the computer.  We also have two dogs, a brother and sister, Boone and Callie.  In my spare time I love to garden, take photos, and read suspense/mystery books.  Luckily for my family, I love to bake and cook, so I spend a lot of time in my kitchen.

I am a Cubs fan and love to watch games; Go Cubs!
