Assistant Principal McEllen
At its May 7 meeting, the District 63 Board of Education approved the appointment of Amy McEllen as Melzer's new Assistant Principal. Ms. McEllen stepped into the role on July 1 after current Assistant Principal Janeice Millon stepped down.
Ms. McEllen most recently served as the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator for Arlington Heights School District 25, which she joined in 2018 as a 3rd Grade Teacher. She began her career teaching 3rd Grade at Vernon Hills School District 73 in 2016.
Ms. McEllen holds two master's degrees: one in educational leadership from the American College of Education and a second in literacy education from Northeastern Illinois University. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
